Filmmaking can be complicated, we're here to simplify things for you.
We carefully guide you step-by-step, transforming your ideas into something tangible.
1. PLAN
You start with an idea…we help it grow. We ask you the right questions then collaborate on the story, writing the script, drawing up a list of shots, and envision how the final cut will look, sound, and feel. This is where we plan out the locations, hire talented actors and extra crew members for lighting each scene and recording clean audio, determine how many days of filming your project will require and so forth. You are in control, we make it happen.
2. FILM
People connect with people. We film with high end cameras that capture stunning images. Audio and Lighting create the feeling and mood of the scene. Actors breathe life and character. The gear we use continually evolves from tripods, sliders, drones, and gimbals to car mounts, GoPros, and underwater equipment. No matter the cost, we get the shot.
3. EDIT
There may be loads of beautiful clips and heart pounding audio snippets but if they’re not placed together in the right way, the whole video may feel off, sound strange, or look muddy. This is the bread and butter of Silver Slate. We delight in a clean edit using Apple’s Final Cut Pro X software. Everything comes together in a wonderfully orchestrated masterpiece of shots, sound effects, music, color, titles, and visual effects that take years of experience and instinct to master.
4. SHARE
From the beginning, we need to determine who your audience is. This gold nugget of information helps us cater the best experience for your viewers. Whether it be marketed on social media, seen on YouTube, or broadcast on TV, we take great care of your needs from beginning to end.

Storytelling has been the most influential aspect of Ryan Watkins' life growing up.
He founded Silver Slate after 8 years as a video producer and editor. Watkins graduated from Utah Valley University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Digital Media.
His dedication to mastering his craft as a creative video editor has more than paid off over the years. However, his pursuit of higher education didn't stop after college, he continues and is eager to learn from recognized filmmakers in the Utah area and invests much of his time to online courses such as Film Editing Pro, Cinema Mastery, and Fulltime Filmmaker to name a few. With top of the line equipment and years of experience in cinematography and producing, you're in good hands with Silver Slate.
